Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

Read on a desert island or at least a deserted beach, with the waves lapping at your feet...

"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again."

Romance, horror, mystery and suspense make Rebecca a classic read. The unnamed narrator falls in love with the wealthy Maxim de Winter, marries him and moves to Manderlay. However, not everything is as it seems: Maxim and his household remain haunted by the first Mrs de Winter, the impossibly perfect Rebecca. Feeling undermined by the dead woman and inadequate compared to her charms and beauty, the narrator is happy to learn that Rebecca was not at all as perfect as she seems and reveals the mystery surrounding her death at sea.

If you're after a dramatic romance to enjoy this summer, Rebecca will have you gripped.
