What is fallopian tube cancer?

Fallopian tube cancer is quite rare. Of all the cancers that develop in the female reproductive system, only 1 percent begin in the fallopian tubes, the tiny organs that connect the ovaries to the womb.

More often, cancer that begins elsewhere will spread to the fallopian tubes (this would not be called fallopian tube cancer).

The different types of fallopian tube cancer?

There are several types of fallopian tube cancer, but the most common is known as adenocarcinoma. In adenocarcinoma, the cancer starts in the cells that line the tubes. The other types of cancer of the fallopian tubes are transitional cell and sarcoma.
