Chiropractic cancer therapy

What is chiropractic treatment?

Based on bone setting - the ancient (and now disused) practice of manipulating the body to help it heal, chiropractors make gentle adjustments of the spine and other joints helps the body repair.

The belief is that a healthy spine and nervous system are directly related to good health and well being.

Chiropractic treatment may involve:

  • Excercises
  • Ultrasound or similar treatments
  • Manual manipulation of bones and muscles, particularly the spine

How does chiropractic treatment work?

The chiropractor will aim to find the root cause of any discomfort and treat the area sometimes by manipulating or realigning the spine. You may hear a loud cracking sound when this done which is due to the change of pressure in the joint. It should not be painful and is not dangerous.

Chiropractors can also employ other techniques to treat paitents such as combing massage, hot and cold treatments and exercises with spinal realignment.

What is chiropractic used for?

Chriopractic is used to primarily address pain usually in the back but can also be used to treat headaches, migraines and tension.

Chiropractic in cancer treatment

Chiropractic could be used by cancer paitents to manage pain and tension particularly if they suffer from back ache or headaches during treatment. In Canada, chiropractic is regulated by provincial statute in all provinces. It is important to look for an practitioner experienced in treating cancer paitents.
