Christina Applegate - breast cancer survivor
Christina Applegate was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in August 2008. Luckily, the cancer was caught early enough to not be life-threatening. After switching to a healthier diet, Applegate followed doctor-lead treatment and is now in remission.
Although cancer was only found in one breast, Applegate underwent a double mastectomy as she'd inherited a genetic fault - BRCA1 mutation - which often leads to breast cancer. She had reconstructive surgery, and fouded Right Action for Women,
an organization which spreads awareness and helps fun breast cancer screenings for women who don't have insurance or aren't covered.
Applegate gave birth to daughter Sadie, in 2011.
