Don’t mess up

It may seem like an obvious point but wearing a tight T-shirt to have your hair and make-up done often creates all manner of bother when it comes to removing it post makeover.

Wear a button up shirt or one of your husbands baggy T-shirts – while not glamorous, you’ll save ruining a stunning hair do and scuffing up a perfect façade.

Alternatively get your hair done after slipping into the dress. It’s always good to give yourself some time to get comfortable in the wedding frock – it may have been laced too tight or the hem needs sorting out, either way it gives a bit more time to sort out the issue.

If you have a dress that goes over your head, get a pillow case or a silk underskirt to put over your head first. This will allow your dress to slip on without ruffling hair or smudging make-up.
