Spolied brats with hurt egos

At the root of most of it then, seems to lie that most capricious entity, the male ego.

Like a belligerent kid spoiling for attention, men will always pander to their egos, usually to their cost.

Not only that, but instead of growing out of it with age, such feelings seem to multiply with advancing years. ‘Men can begin to think maybe they’re losing their looks and power,’ says Diana Parkinson.

‘Then a younger woman comes along and he’s virile, and Tarzan-like and alive again!’

Few would admit it, but many men are racked with insecurities, sexual or otherwise.

Tangible success with the opposite sex is often a direct route to allaying those fears, regardless of how destructive it might turn out to be in the long term.
