4 Tips to Take Care of Our Little Hands

by Laurence-Emmanuelle Bédard Published on July 6, 2015

Many of us spend large sums of money on the appearance of our hands, especially our nails. We apply nail polish, enamel, and give them nutrient treatments. However, there are some simple ways to take care of our hands, without having to spend a lot. Here are four.

Give Them Affection

The skin of the hands is the same as that of the body, except that – since it is continually exposed to all kinds of stresses – it requires special care. It is important to keep your hands well hydrated, especially in winter. That can be achieved by a simple daily application of hand cream. In addition, you can massage your own hands. This will promote blood circulation, which allows for healthier nails. And, of course, they will appear to be healthier!

Take Olive Oil Baths

THE remedy for dry, brittle nails: olive oil baths. Simply submerge them in olive oil for about ten minutes. Since it is a vegetable oil, the nutrients they contain are readily absorbed by both the nail and the skin. This way the nails are strengthened and have a healthy appearance.

Drink Water

Water is always our best ally when it comes to taking care of our bodies, including our skin. When the body is well hydrated, nails benefit too! No need to spend money on moisturizing treatments when the recipe is so simple. Just turn on the tap and presto! Voila! If you drink the recommended amount of water each day, your nails will thank you!

Take Care of Your Cuticles

Cuticles, when neglected, may dry out and give your hands and nails a poor appearance. To change this, simply nourish the cuticles with a moisturizer, which ideally should contain vitamin E. Caution: it is better not pull them up, which can result in injury!
