Work on the characters

First things first, work out who your characters are.

"What do they desire, fear or hope for? How does the intimacy of sex affect them?" asks Eden.

Anna suggests some other questions to ask yourself when creating your characters. "Why does the reader care about them? What are their motivations for having sex? What are they going to learn in the book?"

Once you've worked this out, your characters will be more authentic and your sex scenes will be more meaningful.
