Bartholin cysts

Bartholin cysts

The Bartholin glands are situated in the interior of the labia minora. They produce a lubricating fluid, but from time to time they can get blocked. This leads to the formation of a cyst, which feels like a ball in the labia minora. It's often swollen, red and very painful. It therefore needs to be treated as quickly as possible.

How is it treated?
Under anaesthetic, an incision is made into the cyst and it's then drained.

Results
In a few days the area heals and the pain disappears completely.
