Casual sex and a changing society

It seems like the phenomenon has become more common in recent years and that it's covered more in the media and in films. But has it always existed?
The younger generation is a lot more capable of having "sex friends" and multiple partners. But this remark applies to the general population as well.

People feel a lot more comfortable with this sort of behaviour in light of their exposure to it in the media.

In the film No Strings Attached, Emma (Natalie Portman) is the first to put the brakes on the relationship. Do you think that roles have been reversed and that modern society encourages women to be more pragmatic?
Absolutely! Women's liberation has pushed them to make the most of life and do what they like doing.

But I also find that some negative masculine traits - without wanting to stigmatize anyone - have rubbed off on women as well, such as wanting and changing partners without worrying about feelings.
