Jo Fairley is an established beauty journalist and co-author of the Beauty Bible series with Sarah Stacey. Her latest book, The Anti Aging Beauty Bible is launching on 24th March 2011. As founder of Green & Blacks Organic Chocolate, Jo Fairley bridges two important industries close to all women's hearts: beauty and chocolate.

Describe yourself in 5 words:
Energetic, entrepreneurial, good-humored, unafraid, eco-aware.

How do you shake up female clichés in your daily life?
Male or female there is only one route to success:  rolling up your sleeves and getting on with the hard work.  To be honest, I have never experienced any kind of chauvinism or barrier just because I was a woman (they wouldn’t dare!) – and feel blessed to have been born with a women’s intuition, which I think is a huge advantage in life and in business.

What are you especially proud of?
Creating Green & Black’s, transforming the lives of farmers in the developing world and showing that when you do good in business, it’s good for business.  And giving the world delicious chocolate they can enjoy with a little less guilt!

How do you imagine male and female relations in 20 years?
I think many countries – all the enlightened ones – will have female leaders by then, and then perhaps (oh, please) we’ll have a more peaceful world, as a result.
