Describe yourself in 5 words?
Passionate, humorous, down-to-Earth,
analytical, curious.

How do you shake up female clichés in your daily life (job, family…)?
I surprise colleagues with some of my favorite Programs on TV -- From Science shows like Prof Brian Cox's Wonders of the Solar System, to Top Gear,  Spooks, Rugby and News.....as well as Being Human, Strictly, Britain's Got Talent and of course, Miranda and Jo Brand. My tastes are neither female or male - just my own!

I talk about my husband being a great cook, I am not embarrassed about men in my teams going to school sports days, parents evenings, and making that a normal part of office chat for women too.
I like rambling, mountain biking and off piste skiing - I can be as tough-minded but also as emotional as any man.  And my team know it!

What are you most proud of?
Of my talented  family and spending time on going on big adventures with them.
Of BBC Television maintaining quality and variety and popularity. Recruiting the best team in broadcasting and encouraging women to take on big, high profile jobs at all stages of their lives.  Plus developing a diverse mix of people, personalities, and experience.
How do you imagine male/female relations in 20 years time?
Men will want more of a share of home life, childcare, and kitchen gadgets.  Women will have more power in the boardroom and Parliament.

The BBC's South Riding program is a new BBC One show about how women can make a difference. Check it out.
