Rihanna praised in London but fans complain of 777 tour
Rihanna is surely the hardest working woman in showbiz.
Rihanna praised for London gig but fans complain of exhausting 777 tour
For her current 777 tour, which ends tonight, the pop superstar performed seven gigs in seven different cities worldwide. Oh, and all in seven days.
The 24-year-old has flown from concert to concert on her Boeing 777 “Rihannaplane”, along with 150 members of the press, crew and friends.
Last night it was London’s turn and a whole host of fans - including many famous faces - turned out to watch the "Diamonds" singer perform.
Harry Styles’ rumoured love interest model Cara Delevingne and fashion designer Stella McCartney both tweeted photos of themselves hanging out backstage with the Bajan singer.
Kylie Minogue and former "X Factor" winner Alexandra Burke were seen heading into the show and a whole host of celebrity fans took to Twitter to compliment Rihanna on putting on such a great show.
Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock gushed: “I'm inspired.. :) #RiRi was just amazing x.”
Pixie Lott wrote: “Loved the Riri antics!!!!”
By the sounds of it, "Kick-Ass" star Chloe Moretz also loved the show, writing: “Brilliant night. #RudeGal @rihanna You KILLED it!!! She's getting downn!”
Rihanna herself seemed pretty happy with her gig at Kentish Town Forum, which proceeded her earlier turning on of the Christmas lights at Westfield’s Stratford shopping centre.
She tweeted midway through her concert: “I'm so ph**king happy right now! Who else is listening to it at this very moment? GOOD sh*t!”
Although everyone watching the gig appeared to have a great time, those on the 777 tour haven’t been shy about telling everyone what a miserable time they’re having as they travel with the superstar.
Frustrated fans, who won competitions to join Rihanna on the tour, have complained that they’ve only seen the singer once since the start of the trip, when she doled out champagne to the passengers.
And they've since had to put up with little sleep, delayed flights and inadequate access to facilities, food and water.
Many journalists have taken to Twitter to complain about the lack of face-time with the "We Found Love" singer on the tour, as they sit around waiting with her fans.
MTV writer Mary HK Choi tweeted: “BEDLAM on the @rihanna plane and press corp YELLS ‘save our jobs’ and ‘just one quote'.”
Rihanna will make her final stop on the 777 tour tonight in New York.
And then we guess she'll be sleeping. Lots.
