Turn down the heat

5. Economical energy

Another great way to save money is to reduce your energy consumption.

Matthew Gordon, energy expert from Honeywell shares his top energy saving tips;

Turn your thermostat down by 1 degree:
"We all sense temperature in one of three ways – we’re too hot, too cold, or comfortable. By turning down your thermostat by just 1 degree this winter you'll save on average 10% of your annual heating bill – and you won’t even feel it!"

Eliminate drafts:
"Your home will seep hot air through any crevice outside including the letter box, windows and doors. It’s worth fitting letter box tidies or using old towels under the door to keep the cold air out and the warm air in. Sounds simple enough - and it will save you money too."

Alternatively turn off the heating altogether and dance around in your favourite knitwear! Cardigan available from Asos.
