Furoshiki!

You can make your own furoshiki, or traditional Japanese wrapping cloth, using a scarf or even a scrap of pretty fabric. In Japan, these cloths are used for a big variety of purposes, as shopping bags, bento carriers, or gift wrap.

Make your own and have fun trying out different folding techniques—the wrapping process is not unlike folding origami.

For your reference, the Japanese Ministry of the Environment has a handy how-to-use-furoshiki guide to give you ideas.
