When it comes to hair, Jorge Joao believes that a trend has a lifespan of six years. Two initial years of introduction, two years of huge popularity and two years of gradual retreat.
As we're at the end of the classic (chin length) bob cycle, women are faced with two options: leaving their hair to grow long or cutting it very short.
And that's exactly what we're seeing at the moment: longer hair is back but it's the short boyish cuts that have stolen the show! Think Michelle Williams
, Emma Watson
and, more recently Anne Hathaway
, who have all plumped for the pixie cut. If you've always dreamt of a short cut, now's the time to be brave!
In terms of colouring, the trend is more about the way the colour is applied rather than the colour itself. According to Jorge, colouring sections of hair outright has evolved and what's interesting now is not knowing where the colour starts and ends.
In other words, choose one or two shades that are close to your natural colour and apply subtly, producing a rich, slightly mysterious result.
