Make-up advice from Grace Lee - Lead Make-up Artist at Maybelline New York Canada

This season, make-up artist Grace Lee is big on three trends which she considers to be essentials.

First up are pastel eyeshadows: as seen in this season's clothing ranges, mint green, pale pink and sky blue are making a noticeable comeback. But be careful, it's not about reproducing the looks that were in vogue in the Sixties... this summer, pastel plays the subtle card!

Grace also endorses the use of eyeliner, the popularity of which she attributes to the influence of two stars who passed away last year: Elizabeth Taylor and Amy Winehouse. Both perfected the art of the cat-eye look and are excellent models to copy this season. Although you obviously don't need to copy the thickness of Amy's line, just the shape of it...

The last trend (and Grace's favourite) to try this summer is dazzling lip colour. Coral, orange, fuchsia... we should all have these colours in our make-up bags! And if you're a bit wary of using such bright colours, Grace suggests starting off with a gloss before moving onto lipstick.
