How to wear gold make-up
Miky, make-up artist for Lancôme France, and Max Delorme, make-up artist for Maybelline, reveal their tips for gold make-up perfection.
> Which areas of the face should gold make-up be applied to for a daytime look?
Miky: Day make-up requires subtlety. Work on the complexion to emphasize a shimmering effect.
Mix a bit of gold powder with your foundation. If your skin is shiny, apply your usual foundation over the central part of your face and the gold powder-foundation mixture over the sides of your face.
Apply a top coat of mascara over your usual mascara. This creates a discreet but pretty look that adds sparkle to your eyes without making you look like a Christmas decoration.
> And for the evening?
Miky: For evening make-up, apply a touch of Lancôme's Blush Subtil Highlighter 00 on the top of the cheekbone over your blusher. This will disperse the blusher and make the cheek look rounder.
Mix gold with your usual moisturizing cream and apply over your chest and shoulders, as well as over your leg muscles to define them.
Add a touch of sensuality to your make-up with a smidgen of gold over the brow bone in this season's colours e.g. indigo (Lancôme's Declaring Indigo Palette Liberté), midnight blue or purple/chocolate.
