Givenchy: Summer smoky eye make up

©Givenchy Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2009

On the podiums

It was au revoir to dark winter smoky eyes and bonjour to the summer smoky eye. The difference? The summer look involves transparent black and pencils or other kohl textures that melt into the skin and leave eyes looking fresh instead of looking as if you've still got last night's make-up on. It almost looks as if you've taken off half your make-up and applied your eyeliner with your fingers.
In your mirror
To get the look at home, apply kohl or eyeliner along your top lashes. Dip a cotton bud in a little make-up remover. Work over your liner, softening and blending it to get a transparent effect.
