Dark make-up trends

Defining feature
Adored by the catwalk designers, black finds its way into this winter's make-up collections. Dark and intense, it takes us back to the film noir movies of the 1950's.
Get the look
Forget about smoky eyes and theatrical-style make-up, the current trend is for refinement. Dark eyeshadows are applied on the mobile lid only and are set off with a fine line of eye liner, stretching out into an almond shape.
You need to be daring to pull this look off! From grey to black, and green to plum, eyeshadows are very intense. Apply shadow to the upper lid only. Avoid creamy or gel textures, go for sophisticated powders instead. To open up your eyes, apply several coats of black mascara on the upper and lower lashes.
We think...
Black make-up is chic and glamorous. Wear black on your eyes day or night, with pink cheeks, nude lips and black nails. Team with volumised hair for a rock chick feel.

Essential buy
