Alexis Mabille Yule log for Angelina


Over the years, a huge competition has emerged among French confectioners to see who can make the most unusual and creative Yule logs, or bûches as they're called in French.

One of this year's highllights is the bûche created by Lyon-born designer Alexis Mabille for the Angelina tearoom. Angelina, the most elegant and gorgeous tea-shop in Paris, was a favourite of Coco Chanel and is still one of the most popular meeting places in the fashion world today.

Mabille's bûche features a creamy centre of chestnuts, candied apples, yuzu and lime, surrounded by milk chocolate ganache and caramelized pecans, this Yule log sits on a chocolate biscuit base. Its quilted surface is dusted in cocoa powder and adorned with a silver bow and edible studs.

Truly limted edition, this work of culinary art is available to order from Angelina from the 21st to 26th of December.
