Spa hotel and restaurant: Thornbury Castle and Tudor Gardens

This authentic Tudor castle is located 12 miles north of Bristol. Once owned by Henry VIII, Thornbury castle lies on the edge of the Gloucestershire market town of Thornbury and surrounded by green countryside including 15 acres of castle grounds; complete with vineyard and Tudor gardens.
The sumptuous rooms exude English Tudor character. The best room in the house is Duke's Chamber, once used by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn or the Superior Suite, located on the third floor in the South Tower, purporting to have the biggest bed and the highest ceiling in England.
Thornbury Castle has an award-winning restaurant serving traditional English meals using locally sourced produce and herbs grown in its own Tudor garden.

For the particularly extravagant guest, the whole castle may be rented for exclusive use. This means up to 50 rooms, including 27 bed chambers and the two-bedroom family gatehouse, all with full English breakfast served.
Health, fitness and beauty facilities are available for guests, including golf course and organized pony trekking. Pets are allowed by arrangement.
