Spa and restaurant: Lido

The Lido is located in Bristol's up-market quarter, Clifton Wood, and is an oasis of calm and tranquility. Great care and attention to detail have been taken over renovating the Lido, with original reclaimed Victorian wood used to form beams and barrel showers.

Dating back to 1849, it was re-opened to the public in 2008. The outdoor 'infinity pool' is eco-friendly and refreshingly low in chlorine. This top-class venue has been short-listed by Professional Spa and Beauty for the award of of Day Spa of the Year 2011.

There is a sauna and steam room, and a restaurant serving seasonal dishes made from locally sourced West Country produce. Both classic and holistic spa treatments are available such as the full body massage, pregnancy massage, “Rainforest Rejuvenation Facial” or the “Perfect Hawaiian Ritual.

The poolside bar is open daily and serves smoked salmon on toast with a glass of prosecco and a pot of tea with a scone, clotted cream and jam all for afternoon tea.
