The Aqua Day Spa, Sheraton Hotel and Grand Towers, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Address: The Sheraton Hotel and Grand Towers, 88 Dong Khoi Street, District  1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Website:  www.starwoodhotels.com

Price range: £20 - £213

Location:  Located within the heart of Ho Chi Minh’s up and coming District 1, the hotel and spa is surrounded by some of the city’s trendiest boutiques and is around half an hour from the airport.

Designed according to the principles of Feng Shui, this tranquil spa is a welcome retreat from the hectic streets of Ho Chi Minh and incredibly popular with both tourists and the city’s well-to-do. The spa is beautifully laid out with seven large, airy treatment rooms and a Lifestyle restaurant serving healthy food.

Etiquette: Swimwear is optional, but robes, slippers and paper pants are all provided.

Experience: I went for the Oriental Zen massage which uses a combination of Vietnamese and Shiatsu Zen techniques. After choosing from three gorgeously fruity massage oils – I went for lemongrass – I enjoyed a relaxing but firm pummelling which made light work of my various strains. The therapist was definitely thorough – tweaking everything from my toes to my fingers. The treatment finished with one of the firmest – but best - head massages I’ve ever experienced.

Most expensive treatment: The four and a half hour Sanctuary Retreat package for couples. £213.00.

Least expensive treatment:
The Reflex Zone Foot Therapy Treatment. £20 for thirty minutes.
