Snowshoeing: preparation for snowshoe trekking

Snowshoeing - Snowshoeing: preparation for snowshoe trekking
Ideal for those who are afraid of high speeds and steep slopes, snowshoe trekking allows you to get out in the open air while doing some sustained physical activity.

Snowshoe treks can take place on vast, open plains or on marked routes, often in the middle of forests.
Muscles used:
Like traditional trekking, snowshoe trekking requires a certain level of endurance. In particular, the heart, muscles and tendons are worked a lot.

You'll use more energy snowshoeing on fresh, powdery snow than on packed-down trails because the effort required to advance is much more intense.
Precautions to take:
> Before snowshoeing, especially if you plan on going off the beaten track, prepare your route well and check the weather forecast and the quality of the snow.
> Don't over-estimate yourself, start with short trails, and avoid going off on your own.
