Postnatal fitness: How to lose weight after a baby
Swim it off
Swim away your pregnancy pounds - and bring your baby for extra calorie crunching. Swimming with your baby can be a very beneficial time for you both - it's a great way to bond and you'll both be tiring yourselves out - which hopefully means a better night's sleep.
Aquatics Manager at Water Babies says: “Once you’re in the pool, keep your baby moving all the time: bouncing across the water, swinging them around, singing nursery rhymes as you go.
"Just half an hour’s swimming will provide you both with a great physical workout. Due to the lack of gravity in the water, this includes the benefit of exercising muscles neither of you would even find on land.
"And all that lifting your baby up in the air and moving through the water can burn an impressive 300 calories!”
Remember to be realistic with your weight loss and take it one day at a time.
