2015: The year of wild hair colour

by Marie-Sarah Published on November 25, 2015

As 2015 comes to a close, one can only marvel at all the wild shades and looks seen on women this year! Here are some of the hot trends that are still going strong...

Bronde

Is it brown hair or blonde hair? Actually, it’s both. “Bronde”, a clever mix of blonde highlights over a light brown base, hit the red carpet by storm this year.

Turquoise

Rainbow-coloured manes were also big this year and in every imaginable shade, but turquoise was definitely the one most seen on celebrities this year.

Pastel

Powdery hues were also big in 2015. Some women got the look at home by stripping their hair and then using a pastel colour and white conditioner to dye it. This super-hot look was seen all over the streets of Montreal this year!

Babylights

More natural than the passé “ombré” look, “babylights” are pale highlights, similar to those you had as a child in the summertime. The focus is on streaks that frame the face and on the tips of your hair in particular.

Glitter roots

It’s no joke: some people who don’t want highlights are now hiding their roots with festive glitter! It’s not for everyone, of course, but if you go for this look, you’ll certainly attract plenty of attention, for better or for worse!

Hair tattoos

Some would say the tattoo industry is grasping at straws but love it or hate it, women are now applying temporary tattoos to their hair like they would on their skin. If Kylie Jenner did it, you can bet that we’ll be seeing a lot more of this daring look!
