Jayne Mansfield

"A 41-inch bust and a lot of perseverance will get you more than a cup of coffee - a lot more."

Now, tell the truth, have you ever actually seen a Jayne Mansfield movie? No? You're not alone. But however little her remaining audience may be, Jayne Mansfield is still one of of the 1950s most recognizable icons.

Vera Jean Palmer was born in 1933, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Throughout her short career, she was often referred to as "the working man's Monroe." She was one of the original Playboy playmates and posed nude for a spread in 1955. Though she had many box-office success during the 50s, she was already seen as something of has-been by the early 60s.

Mansfield was married three times and had five children. She tragically died in a car accident in 1967, when she was only 34 years old.

A short life, but with perks.
