Lauren Bacall

"Find me a man who's interesting enough to have dinner with and I'll be happy."

Born Betty Joan Perske in 1924 in New York City, Lauren Bacall was only 19 when she starred in To Have or Have Not alongside Humphrey Bogart. The actress was reportedly so nervous that she had to hold her head down and look up with her eyes to hide the fact that she was shaking. That pose would become her signature Look.

As it turns out, Bacall had no need to be nervous. Bogie, who was already married to actress Mayo Methot, fell in love with her while shooting the movie. They had an affair which led to their marriage in 1945. She was 19, he was 45.

The two remained married until Bogart's death from cancer of the esophagus in 1957. Bacall was also romantically linked to Frank Sinatra and Jason Robards Jr.

Head down, eyes up, breathy voice: "Anybody got a match?"
