Long skirts - spring/summer 2010 fashion trends
Skirts down to the ankles regularly make an appearance on the catwalks but the fact that they're not the easiest things to wear on a day-to-day basis hasn't won them that many fashionista fans. However, this summer, long skirts are reinvented into less classic versions, as seen at Yves Saint Laurent (left) with strawberry illustrations and at Chloé (right) and Yohji Yamamoto (centre), where flowing lines and colours make the passage from catwalk to street that bit easier.
We think: Point number 1: long skirts look better if they have flowing lines. Point number 2: forget about long skirts if you're less than 5"2 foot tall - they don't do anyone with short legs any favours at all. A long skirt will go well with loose-fitting tops and blouses for a very feminine look. Urban, holiday-deprived folk with pasty pins and no time for a spray-tan will heart this trend!
