London Fashion Week s/s 2011 - Day 6
Fashion East/Newgen Menswear Installations

Fashion East/Newgen Menswear Installations

Perhaps the most atmospheric event of the day was the Fashion East/Newgen Menswear Installations, which took place on the Terrace at Somerset house. Feeling more like a summer party than an official event, each new designer populated their own whitewashed hut.

After dodging all the proclamations of ‘sweetie’, ‘darling’ and attempted air-kissing, staring at Katy Eary-clad models boxing and listening to Omar Kashoura’s sharply dressed band we came across menswear brand Baartmans and Siegel.

Fending off press from all angles, their immaculate tailoring and watery, painterly prints seemed to be very much in demand. Likewise, Sarah Williams’ tiny hut was brimming full of admirers of her bespoke leather luggage. Quirkily shaped, bridle leather briefcases in eggshell blue stole our hearts.
