Technological revolution at London Fashion Week

One of the biggest changes in London Fashion Week's 25 year history is the technological revolution.

Back when the shows first started, photographers had to invest heavily in film and endure the costs of processing.

Pre-digital, the bank of photographers had to courier their films to processing labs and wait for them to be developed.

Now images are uploaded within minutes of a show finishing.

The British Fashion Council has now embraced technology and this season's London Fashion Week is now a 100% technically savvy affair.

Londonfashionweek.co.uk is broadcasting videos throughout the Week, you can follow events on

Twitter (http://twitter.com/LondonFashionWk)

and Viigo has developed a London Fashion Week Blackberry application which allows you to create a personal schedule, receive live updates and access official content.

With websites such as SHOWstudio broadcasting videos throughout the Week, there is a virtual democratization of London Fashion Week.

What was once a highly exclusive event is still selective - you have to be accredited to attend and invited by designers to shows, but now with such excellent web coverage, even if you aren't invited you can get a front row seat.
