The spirit of London at London Fashion Week

On the catwalks there has been a huge buzz about Burberry Prorsum which will close the last day of womenswear shows on Tuesday evening.

Burberry Prorsum usually shows in Milan so it's great to see the label return to its London roots.
There is also excitement to see the return of Antonio Berardi to London.
Antonio launched his career at the same time as McQueen and he's made a huge success internationally.

Not only is he known for his talent for crafted details, he is also a master of accessories - we can't wait to see his shoes.

Matthew Williamson, Betty Jackson, Julien Macdonald, Nicole Farhi, Amanda Wakeley, Jonathan Saunders, Roksanda Ilnic, John Rocha, Paul Smith, Jasper Conran and Eley Kishimoto can all be relied upon to present fantastic shows.

We also anticipate fabulous drama from Basso and Brooke, a great collaboration with jeweller Scott Wilson for Jaeger and blasting designs from House of Holland.

Menswear day should be a real treat - Carolyn Massey, B Store and the fantastic Tim Soar all promise to deliver great collections.

The spirit of London has always been channelled into Fashion Week and most people say the edginess and raw talent is what makes our event unique.

Traditionally, it has been thought that London is all about fun but isn't as commercially-focused as Paris, New York or Milan. With Harold Tillman at the helm as Chair of the BFC, there is a sense of rapid progress and re-balancing.

While London's off-schedule events continue to flourish, the on-schedule events have never been better. After the 'credit crunch' theme which pervaded many shows last season, there now seems to be every reason to celebrate our wealth of design talent.
