There’s nothing like starting your day with some glittering, spangling shimmer courtesy of Ashish.
Rocking up at one of his shows, you’d be bitterly disappointed to see a sequin-less landscape but luckily he’s managed to rework his medium of choice once again.
Subtle knits and wool blazers were paired with jigsaw pattern shorts (sequin, naturally) and Peter Pan collar shirts caught the light with every step.
We’ve seen a lot of the grunge silhouette this season, and Ashish took those signature 90s baggy plaid shirts and floor skimming skirts and added a twist for 2010, (incidentally, what do we call this decade? The tens? The teens?) with his sparkling brand of glamour.
If the sequin is Ashish’s detail du jour, then for Basso & Brooke it’s the digital print. Always putting on a great show, you’ll be lucky to have a ticket but in order to really appreciate their designs you need three things: a backstage pass, a magnifying glass and a bar of chocolate. OK, perhaps not the last one but it’ll keep your sugar levels up.
Forget Avatar as a visual spectacle – just get up close and personal with a Basso & Brooke collection.
