La Canadienne store experience
Pamplona has been manager of the La Canadienne store for three years. For her, the biggest recent challenge that the company has faced has been the transition from wholesale-only to retail. “The big challenge was to build a flagship that represented a vision that was different from other stores,” she said. “We showcase the collection in a beautiful way and in a beautiful space, but we did not just want to sell shoes. We wanted to create an atmosphere of comfort.”
And so they have. Walk into the store at any time of day and you will be served a beverage or coffee of your choice (trust me, I’ve made them!), which you can enjoy sitting on plush couches or armchairs. For a real treat, check out the beautifully decorated bathroom. It’s probably nicer than the one you have at home.
Thanks to the online store, out-of-province and non-Canadian customers can already shop for goodies at the click of a mouse. But could the Montréal store’s fifth anniversary mean a possible long-awaited expansion to other Canadian cities?
“With the continuous growth of our brand,” says Pamplona, “anything is possible...”
