Cooking and preparing pasta

First of all, try to avoid filled pasta which contains between 6 and 15% fat, and pre-prepared pasta in sauce that typically contain between 6 and 10% fat.

It's better to buy fresh or dried pasta and then prepare it yourself with using a knob of butter, a bit of grated cheese, a teaspoon of olive oil or tomatoes and basil.

Cooking pasta for too long affects its rate of digestion: ideally it should be cooked al dente so it fills you up more. For a complete meal, it's essential to eat it with meat, fish or eggs which are rich in animal protein.
