"Life in plastic, it's fantastic"
Being Barbie doesn't seem so great anymore. This photo showing what the legendary doll's proportions would actually look like on a real women has kind of turned us off the plastic life.
The picture, which shows model Katie Halchishick, founder of Healthy is the New Skinny, took off on the Internet after it was tweeted by Australian blog, So Bad So Good (@sbadsgood).
In 2009, for Barbie's 50th anniversary, the BBC News Magazine published a story detailing the doll's proportional flaws. "A real life Barbie would simply fall over," Denise Winterman wrote.
Among other flaws:
-- A waist about half the width of her chest,
-- An oddly thin neck (can that even support her head?)
-- Humungous eyes
-- Sunken cheeks
