A study at Oxford University last year revealed a link between stress and an impaired ability to conceive. Researchers found that women with a stress indicative enzyme were 12% less likely to get pregnant during the most fertile period of their monthly cycle.
Doctor Cecilia Pyper, from the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at Oxford University, said: 'We found that those women with high levels of a marker for stress were less likely to succeed in conceiving.
