Higher than normal body temperature

It's a wise woman who tracks her body temperature while she's trying for a baby.

A spike in temperature usually means you've ovulated. After ovulation you're body's basal temperature peaks and then starts to drop off again before your period starts.

And though we're used to feeling warmer when our periods start, when you're pregnant your basal body temperature stays raised after your period is due.

Of course you could just be coming down with something or if you've had a few fine wines, that can also raise your basal temperature.

Pregnancy tests are the only way to be absolutely sure.
