When you go somewhere for the day or after your child's been to a party, ask them to tell you all about the things they've taken part in.

Not only does this little exercise allow them to focus on their memories: it also requires them to structure their thoughts into a start, a middle and an end.

Help them and go back over things if they get lost. Little by little, structures will materialize, which will help their concentration.
