The summer holidays are here, but you can avoid family holiday meltdown with these top tips for travelling with children. 

We spend so much time trying to make special family memories on holiday, but let’s face it, it’s one of our biggest annual stresses trying to take the kids away and stay sane at the same time.

If you’ve opted for a ferry instead of a flight it can be a great way to travel to the continent, especially if travelling from Portsmouth, which is Britain’s best connected ferry Port.

The ferry and drive route can be less hassle all round, with no baggage fees, long check in queues or fidgeting children .
 All cross channel ferries have facilities to entertain the kids whilst the ship sets sail and once you’re on the road, there are plenty of little ideas to transform the ride into shared family fun.
