How to give your kids a balanced diet
Article in images

A balanced and varied diet should be enough to give children all the essential fatty oils, vitamins and Omega 3 they need.

Omega 3 is essential for the development of the brain and nervous system. Breast-milk is a really good source, and it's also found in oily fish, rapeseed and nut oils.

All foods contain vitamins of some sort. Choose according to what's in season and what your child needs: citrus fruit for Vitamin C to ward off colds in winter, for example.

You shouldn't need to give your child vitamins unless your doctor prescribes them - a balanced diet should be enough. Remember that a 500mg Vitamin C supplement is equivalent to a whole kilo of oranges!
