Amanda Woods is an L.A. workaholic who owns a successful movie trailer company. Iris Simkins is a society column editor at The Daily Telegraph in London. When both are faced with unsurmountable man troubles, they decide to swap houses for the holidays.

Amanda heads to Iris's English village cottage outside of London, while Iris hops the pond to Amanda's state-of-the-art L.A. McMansion. Though both women vow that this year, Christmas means detoxing from all things male, they find that being alone isn't so easy after all...

This could have been a bad movie. In fact, it should have been. But somehow, the magical Christmas movie Gods proclaimed that it would not be so.

Jack Black is a strangely charming love interest, Kate Winslet is so eager it's cute, and Jude Law is, well, Jude Law. Eli Wallach's cameo as an old Hollywood screenwriter is the cherry on top of the cake that makes you burst out laughing every time he makes a "Back in the good old days..." reference.

A feel good holiday rom-com of the best kind.
