Holiday reels: Movie magic for the whole family

Frosty the Snowman (1969)

 - Frosty the Snowman (1969)
One morning shortly before Christmas, school children gather in the playground to build what seems to be an ordinary snowman with the help of a magician named Professor Hinkle.

With a flourish, the magician places the finishing touch on the snowman's head: his hat. Amazingly, this makes "Frosty" come to life. Aghast at finding out that his hat is actually magic, Hinkle wants it back. The children refuse, and Hinkle vows to snatch it back from Frosty one day.

Meanwhile, the rapidly rising temperature is cause for alarm. Refusing to let Frosty melt, the children decide to lead him to the North Pole, where he'll be safe. But Hinkle is in hot pursuit...

A classic made-for -V Christmas special. In case you don't remember the theme song (you definitely will after watching...) here's a little taste:

"Frosty the Snowman was a jolly happy soul, with a corn cob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal..."
