Children and Internet Chat: instant messaging

lovelylisa: I've got an 11-year-old daughter who's quite grown-up for her age. I let her use the Internet with me but she's now asked if she can use it to chat to her friends over MSN.

She says she doesn't want me looking over her shoulder at her conversations but I'm reluctant to leave her on her own on the computer. Is there an instant messaging service just for children? I don't want her chatting with anyone but her friends.

MSN is a very secure instant messaging service. You must tell your daughter to only accept her friends and refuse all invitations from people she doesn't know in real life.
