Queen of the Brow: Shavata's rule

Eyebrow shaping at it's best

Shavata may be a shrewd business woman but, first and foremost, she's a beautician - and, in her eyes at least, the beauty industry thrives on great service and therefore honesty.

23 years in the industry she tells me with a mock shudder... you would never guess she's had the time in her life to do anything for 23 years!

Perhaps the secret of her youthful looks really is in her perfectly manicured eyebrows after all. Shavata's eponymous Brow Bars across the country offer what they term as a "mini face lift in your lunch hour".

'Age equals arch', she tells me, 'as you get older, you place the arch slightly further up which gives a more open and lifted appearance.'

Among the first questions a Shavata brow technician will ask you is your age. This determines where they eventually place the arch to achieve maximum youthfulness.
