Lips are another part of your body that tend to get left out when the sun cream gets wacked on, so next year invest in a high SPF lip protectant, applying it every time you come out of the sea, eat an ice cream or finish your pool-side cocktail!

To treat dry, chapped lips, use balms made from beeswax, cocoa butter or petroleum jelly several times a day. Avoid flavoured, scented or coloured chap sticks or balms; these are likely to contain irritants which will only make your lip condition worse – they may also encourage you to lick your lips, and because saliva evaporates quickly, this will dry them out even more in the long run.
