If we're being totally honest, while love in this day and age is tough for everyone, women feel the brunt of the agony. Not only do we outnumber our male counterparts in many areas of the world, we're practically forced to settle and accept whatever they offer us. Why? Because there's a not-so-underlying air in society that excuses their poor behavior with, "well, they're men, what do you expect?" Our response: so, so much more.
There's really not much we can do to rid the world of such poor, antiquated logic. However, as women in our twenties, we can try to cheat the game by dating an older man. No, they're not perfect either. But they often have so much more to offer than the booze-guzzling boy toy we can hardly get a return Snapchat from. You know the struggle. He says he was asleep, but you saw him "liking" photos on Instagram and tweeting some hot chick. Talk about lame.
Whether you're into someone who's a few years older or someone who looks more like an uncle, here's why dating an older man is actually a rocking idea. Thank us later!
They're More Established In Their Career
Though it's not always true, older men generally have their shit together. Sometimes it can be tough to hand-hold a lover who refuses to live up to their potential. The solution? Date up in age for a man who is more settled into his career.
As independent as we women are, we still value a man who can hold it down in the responsible department.
They're Seasoned In Chivalry
Opening doors? Pulling out your seat? Those are just a few of the things a seasoned man understands is standard behavior. Guys in their 20s are often too carried away on their phone to remember their manners.
Do yourself a favour and aim for a gentleman.
They're Better In The Sack
Mhmm... Years of practice pays off when it's time to hit the bed with an older man. They're more aware of a woman's body and exactly what it takes to turn her on.
They're More Likely To Settle Down
Bedding a different person every week can grow tired and stale, even for men. Everyone is ultimately searching for someone they can feel at home with; a person they can reveal their true selves to. The older a man is, the more likely he is to take the plunge and settle down.
They've Already Had Their Party Phase
Let's face it, your 20s can involve a lot of bar hopping and drunken nights. But often times, women grow out of that quicker than men.
By the time you hit 25, you're probably much happier at home with a bottle of wine and cuddled up on the couch. You want a guy that can accept that and who is eager to join. A man who is older is just what you're looking for.
They're More Mature
Which means fewer fart jokes! Can we get an amen for that?
They've Gotten The "Bad Boy" Out Of Their System
What's it with dudes in their 20s with their insatiable urge to prove how badass, indifferent, and unemotional they are? The sad thing is that's all a front. It's just that their egos are too afraid to let the real man shine through.
A guy that has aged a bit and is tired of being misunderstood gets it: being a bad boy is so passé.
They're More Intelligent...
...or at the very least their experiences in life has granted them considerable perspective. There's just something undeniably hot about a guy who has "been there, done that" and is able to offer solid words of wisdom.
Falling in love with someone's mind? Priceless.
They're More Likely To Introduce You To Their Parents
Because his mom and dad are waiting for grandkids, he's eager to get them off his back by showing you off.
They're Less Selfish...
... in bed, with money, and with their time. There's really nothing quite like a giving man.
