More sex, less housework?

Conservative values about whose role it is to do the housework

The same ISR study by the University of Michigan shows that there's still a big difference between girls and boys' roles when it comes to helping at home.

Girls aged between 6 and 17 spend, on average, twice as much time as boys helping around the house (clearing up, setting the table, etc). And when boys do help out, they often get money from their parents in return: 15% more often than girls do! It's little surprise, then, that later in life, men find the notion of lending a hand an alien concept...

The same is true of middle-aged couples. According to the same study of couples aged over 45, the average woman does 70% of the domestic chores, or 28 hours of housework a week.
