Make time for each other

Denise says: "Not spending time together is the most common cause of marital distress.

Most couples spend only 2 hours together a day and most of that involves household tasks, eating and watching television.

Life can erode even the most caring relationships and 'phases' can tend to become permanent so if you see that happening be proactive and take turns to book in 'date time'."

Making sure that you get some quality time as a couple, not mum or dad or anything else is integral to keeping the love alive.

"At the most desperate times, with young children and work pressures, you may need to timetable sex! It is unlikely that passion will rear its head any other way - be realistic and enjoy it." says Denise.
